White Noise
endings don't really make noise
when they enter
rather, they come down on you
from above
like snowfall
gently brushing your shoulders
your eyelids
in that moment
you wait-
your clothes are dampened
you shiver
and the Universe catches its breath
fills its lungs
Just before It howls,
"THERE IS MORE TO COME"
the blank white snowy space
following a period is an ending
and a beginning.
